The series revolves around the everyday activities in Dr. Jan Pol’s veterinary clinic, where his family and his team of veterinarians accompany him.  And one of the many veterinarians in Dr. Jan Pol’s clinic is Dr. Brenda Grettenberger.

In Michigan, USA, Brenda Grettenberger took birth on 23 February 1967. She speaks very little about her parents in interviews with the media. Thus, we do not have her parents’ names and other details. However, during one of her interviews for the YouTube channel, Dr. Pol Presents, she revealed some details about her early life with her parents.

Brenda’s parents owned a small dairy farm in Eaton Rapids, Michigan. Growing up, she worked on the farm and learned everything there was about raising cattle.

Her family mostly kept cows of Holstein breeds and Holstein crossbreeds. Thus, her everyday routine included feeding the animals, cleaning them, and milking them. As she speaks, “Cattles came first, then the rest of us.” It is how she grew passionate about cows and collecting cow figurines.

Brenda’s family raised cows and ran the dairy farm business for over four decades. Currently, they are not involved in this same occupation as they have sold all their cows a few years back.

But these negative factors only encouraged her to work hard and prove her capabilities with positive results.

Beginning in 1992, Brenda has been associated with Pol Veterinary for over 29 years now. In all these years as the leading veterinarian, she has treated farms animals both small and large like chickens, goats, sheep, cows, horses, etc. Besides, she also occasionally shows her hands with reindeer.

Despite spending such a long time as a successful professional veterinarian and coping with different situations every day, Brenda is very humble to everyone.

Over time, Dr. Brenda and Dr. Pol’s veterinary work gained high popularity in Michigan and its neighboring cities. Following the rising fame, Nat Geo Wild approached Dr. Pol’s clinic with an offer to appear on TV. Thus, eventually, they started the reality TV series, The Incredible Dr. Pol.

Nat Geo aired its first season in 2011 with Dr. Jan Pol, Dr. Brenda Grettenberger, and Dr. Michele Sharkey as its veterinarian. In addition, the show also featured Jan’s wife Diane Pol as herself and dairy farmer Dale Lehnert. Coming to 2021, the show has already aired 19 seasons.

In all these years, many veterinarian staffs have entered and departed from the clinic and the show. But, Dr. Brenda is the only remaining member to still appear on the show apart from Dr. Pol and his wife.
